System Development

System Development is about the production of drivers for computer and electronic hardware. A Kernel is in fact a driver for a CPU (Central Processing Unit) and main memory, orchestrates any additional drivers, and provides an interface to for programmers to call Kernel services. System Development creates an interface between the Kernel and the hardware device and contains the codes to communicate effectively with the hardware. The Kernel then provides an API (Application Programming Interface) that effectively hides the low level complexity of the driver and allows a consistent interface to perhaps disparate yet similar hardware devices.
